About Susan Kinder counselling & therapy services
I am a highly experienced BACP Accredited counsellor and psychotherapist, currently working mainly as a private practitioner with individuals, couples and young people (aged 10 yrs and above). My original training was with Relate where I became a fully qualified relationship counsellor, young people’s counsellor, counselling supervisor and practice consultant. I have also spent many years working for the NHS as a mental health therapist and staff counsellor. As well as working for private individuals, I also take on short-term contracts with corporate clients and EAPs.
I offer short and long-term interventions based on talking therapies. My approach is integrative. This means that I draw on different counselling and therapeutic approaches in order to work in a unique and flexible way with you and the issues (past, present and future) you bring into the counselling room. I also offer Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. This approach provides a framework for you to look at solutions to the problem that are more helpful than your current coping strategies.
I offer an initial assessment session of one hour. This is for both you and me to make a decision about whether we want to work together. If we do decide to work together this will usually be on a weekly basis.
I work in Keighley, Dewsbury, and Cleckheaton. The normal fee for assessment sessions and on-going therapy is £60 per hour, but if this level of payment is unmanageable for you, I would be happy to look at the possibility of offering you reduced fees.
Whoever you are, I offer you a safe and welcoming service designed around you and the issues you wish to explore.
